Ediberto Román, Esq. - Of Counsel
Ediberto Román, Esq. is a nationally acclaimed legal scholar, prolific author, and award-winning educator whose career spans over three decades of practice, teaching, and public service. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Lehman College, graduating magna cum laude, and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1988.
Before entering academia, Mr. Román practiced securities and antitrust litigation at several prominent Wall Street law firms. He later joined St. Thomas University School of Law as a professor, and in 2002 became a founding faculty member of Florida International University College of Law, where he also served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Mr. Román’s teaching portfolio includes over a dozen subjects—from constitutional law and civil rights to immigration, contracts, torts, and remedies. His scholarship has appeared in leading law journals at Harvard, Yale, UC-Berkeley, Georgetown, and many others, and he has authored several critically acclaimed books on citizenship, immigration, and constitutional law. He currently serves as series editor for NYU Press’s Citizenship and Migration in the Americas series, curating works from top legal scholars across the country.
A sought-after speaker and public intellectual, Mr. Román’s commentary has been featured in The New York Times, Politico, Bloomberg, Newsweek, and on networks including Univision, Telemundo, and C-SPAN. He is a member of the American Law Institute and a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
